Leveling the RV tip?

Ok so I may be new to all of this but something doesn't seem to be quite right, ha ha. There must be a real art to leveling your Van or RV. Does anyone have any tips on this?

I would love to be able to convert our own place.

The extra floor space with a bunk bed would be nice but my health is not the greatest at the moment and I feel it would be too painful getting up and down one of those. The ladders always look so flimsy.

Have to think on it some more and maybe have a go when we go looking at some vans.

We really would like a shower and toilet in back so we can go off grid when we are ready.

Video - Winter Van life

I don't think we will be ready to live in a van by winter but I am sure we will be doing a few practice runs for this. We will be testing for any leaks and such so this video is really going to be handy when we get to that stage. I also love to crochet so I can start to make some extra blankets and even design a bed hat that could work.  

A Shorter To Do List

Hi again wonderful wanderers. So today at work I got to thinking of some useful stuff I could be researching while we are still deciding what kind of RV we will get.

Stuff like how to set up the internet and the costs. I have see some some people with high range wifi antenna so I need to look into that.

Insurance, but I think we will need to wait until we know what size it will be and all that jazz. I have to renew my licence this week sometime so I will ask then.

Would like to see if there are any address options. Here in Canada we need to have a street address for our licence as they won't accept PO Box. I am from Australia and still not up to date with this kind of thing. We do have some family members and friends that would be ok with it, but I dont like to impose.

And lastly (for now) we need to start asking our family and friends if they have a mechanic they like and trust. Even if we are lucky enough to get a nice running motor we will still need to get it checked out and keep it serviced and I have had some bad rip off experiences with mechanics.

Checking out RV Jedeye's RV

Well, I am already meeting some great people from the awesome Van and RV community. Full timer's, Weekenders, and dreamers like us.  So much great information out there but is it also great to talk with those walking the walk. 

Checking out RV Jedeye's (Love the name!) very first RV. 

If we don't find a van we like or think we can stay married in this is the style RV we are being pulled towards.

Free 1980 DODGE SPORTSMAN RV

So we have this opportunity to get a free 1980 DODGE SPORTSMAN RV.

All we have to do is have it towed. We are talking with people to see what they think and who we know that would like to help/teach us how to do some of the repairs that are needed.

Van Research - 1979 GMC Vandura

I am liking the idea of the raised top for the feel of it being roomier but it does take away the stealthiness if we are in between parks and need to do a Walmart stay or something to that effect.

Van Research - Aluminium Truck and Working Van

How hard would it be for a beginner with no experience to make this livable? The whole roof is translucent though so would need to cover some of that up I am guessing. From what I could see in the photo's these trucks look like old mail vans. These ones are too far away for me but it could be another option to look out for. If not for first van maybe the next project.

Maybe we could buy this 2nd hand Carpet Cleaning Van and then Sell the cleaning stuff to go towards converting it?

Information overload!

Well hi again. I was up way too late watching video's and reading blogs. That didn't stop me from waking up and watching more videos as soon as I woke up.

Knowing that we are really going to be doing this with in a year is both exciting and hella scary.

After talks with my wifey and watching some of the videos together, I now have a better idea on what direction we are heading. Hopefully this will help me sort out my thoughts and ideas a little more.

I am hoping to do some videos but I dont have the best gear and am deciding if I should just wait until we start going out looking at vans or do I do some vlog type videos and record the research side to expand or explain what I put up on the blog.

Oh dear I just went and added more things to think about to my list.

Well, that isn't scary at all... I think we need to go through and see what is relatable to a van or what we want/need.

Van Research - 1986 Dodge Camper

So this lil cutie seems to have what we would need. We still have to sit down and work out what we want/need in a van and then work out our budget for the van itself and then any changes/upgrades we want to do. In the meantime, I will post ones I come across that I am drawn to and we can come back to them when it is closer to buy time.

To Pop Top or Not? It would give more head room and be great in the summer. I am just not all that certain if it would be usable in winter in Vancouver? More research on that subject.

Planning Stage

Within a year my wife and I are hoping to be in a Van or an RV slightly bigger. The idea of becoming full-time van dwellers is rather exciting.

We have decided to blog our adventures and mishaps in hope to help others and find our way into the Nomadic community.
